The Driver CPC part 3b test, also known as the practical road driving test, is a significant milestone in becoming a qualified heavy goods vehicle (HGV) or bus driver. To book the Driver CPC part 3b test, candidates must first pass the Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) part 1 theory test. Christian has demonstrated his proficiency and commitment by excelling in this crucial step of his driving career.

During the practical road driving test, the examiner evaluates several key areas, including:

•Using the vehicle controls: Demonstrating smooth and efficient use of the vehicle’s controls.

•Moving away at an angle, uphill, and downhill: Showing the ability to handle different driving conditions.

•Performing a controlled stop: Ensuring the ability to stop the vehicle safely and smoothly.

•Using mirrors and giving appropriate signals: Maintaining awareness of surroundings and communicating intentions to other road users.

•Showing awareness and anticipation of other road users’ intentions: Predicting and responding to the actions of other drivers and pedestrians.

•Managing progress and controlling vehicle speed: Keeping a consistent and safe speed.

•Dealing with hazards: Recognizing and appropriately responding to potential dangers.

•Selecting a safe place to stop: Choosing safe locations to stop the vehicle when necessary.

Additionally, the test includes 10 minutes of independent driving, where candidates must demonstrate their ability to drive safely while making independent decisions.
