Innovative Fast Track C+E Course
Reflecting recent governmental changes, MT Training now offers a Fast Track C+E course, an option that allows new drivers to bypass the Category C training and go directly to Cat C+E. Implemented in November 2021, this course has streamlined the path to becoming a qualified HGV driver by adjusting the traditional process to fit modern needs and fast-paced learning requirements.
A Focus on Practical Skills and Testing
Our training approach has adapted to recent changes in testing procedures. Previously, a single 2-hour test would conclude the course, but now the assessment is divided into two parts:
- 3a – Reverse and Coupling/Uncoupling: This test focuses on specific skills related to vehicle handling in confined spaces and the safe attachment and detachment of trailers.
- 3b – On-Road Assessment: This evaluates the driver’s ability to safely and effectively navigate public roads, assessing everything from vehicle control to situational awareness and hazard management.
The division of the test ensures thorough preparation and allows our trainees like Adam to demonstrate their capabilities in distinct areas critical to safe driving practices.
DSA Approved Facilities
Many of our training facilities, including the one in Kidderminster, are DSA approved for vocational driving tests. This designation not only makes our training precise and cost-effective but also enhances the overall learning experience by ensuring that we can meet high demand and maintain excellent first-time pass rates. Our ongoing collaboration with the DVSA helps us continually improve and expand our test centres and facilities.
