Innovative Fast Track C+E Course
Recognising the evolving needs of the industry and changes in regulatory frameworks, MT Training Services has embraced the recent government initiative introduced in November 2021, which allows new drivers the option of enrolling in a Fast Track C+E course. This course enables candidates to bypass the traditional Category C training and proceed directly to Cat C+E, streamlining the path to becoming fully licensed heavy goods vehicle operators.
Revised Testing for Enhanced Learning
The structure of the HGV driving test has been adjusted to better assess the practical abilities of new drivers. Previously condensed into a single 2-hour session at the end of the course, the test is now split into two parts:
- 3a – Reverse and Coupling/Uncoupling: Focused on evaluating the driver’s ability to maneuver the vehicle in reverse and manage coupling and uncoupling procedures where relevant.
- 3b – On-Road Assessment: This segment assesses the driver’s ability to safely and effectively navigate the vehicle on public roads, testing skills such as vehicle control, hazard perception, and compliance with traffic laws.
DSA Approved Testing and Continuous Improvement
Our facilities, recognised and approved by the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA), are equipped to deliver precise and cost-effective training. The approval allows us to book sufficient tests to meet demand, resulting in excellent first-time pass rates. At MT Training Tewkesbury, we are constantly collaborating with the DVSA to enhance our facilities and open new test centers, ensuring we stay at the forefront of driver training.
