Revised Testing Procedure for Enhanced Training Outcomes
The HGV driving test underwent significant adjustments to better evaluate the practical abilities of new drivers. The test is now divided into two parts:
•3a – Reverse and Coupling/Uncoupling: This portion of the test focuses on critical skills such as reversing maneuvers and the safe coupling and uncoupling of trailers, which are essential for effective vehicle operation.
•3b – On-Road Assessment: Following the yard test, candidates undergo a rigorous on-road assessment to evaluate their driving skills in real-world conditions, ensuring they are fully prepared to handle the complexities of HGV driving.
DSA Approved for Excellence
Many of our training facilities, including Plymouth, are approved by the Driver and Standards Agency (DSA) for vocational driving tests.
